RF Blocks Reference Designs

Designs which make use of RF Blocks hardware modules. These currently include RF signal generators, a broadband RF power meter, a versatile clock generator and wideband frequency converters.

A DDS Based Signal Generator

  • Dual channel agile frequency source to ∼100 Mhz

  • 0.058 Hz frequency resolution, 0.022° phase tuning resolution

  • Phase noise ∼130 dBc at 1 kHz (10MHz carrier)

  • Reference switchable between internal and external sources
A Low Phase Noise DDS Signal Generator

  • Dual channel agile frequency source to ∼100 Mhz

  • Low noise HMC833 reference improves phase noise performance

A Versatile Clock Generator

  • Agile frequency selection to 900 MHz

  • CMOS, LVDS or LVPECL clock signals

  • Reference switchable between internal and external sources
A Dual Channel RF Power Meter

  • Broadband performance: ±1.0 dB over the range 5 to 4000 MHz

  • Linear dynamic range of at least 50 dB over the range 5 to 4000 MHz

  • Usable to over 6 GHz with reduced dynamic range

  • Two detector models: LF to 600 MHz and 0.1 to 6 GHz
A Simple RF Signal Generator

  • 50 to 5000 MHz (up to 6000 MHz with reduced output power)

  • Calibrated output power -25 dBm to 15 dBm (50 to 3000MHz), -30 dBm to 10 dBm (50 to 4500 MHz) adjustable in 0.25 dB steps

  • Dual outputs equipped with directional couplers
A Direct Conversion RF Front End

  • Dual channels

  • 100 Mhz to 4GHz RF input frequency range

  • High linearity, nominal IIP3 of 35 dBm

  • Good phase noise characteristics, -120 dBm at 10 kHz offset for 1 GHz carrier
A Super Heterodyne RF Front End

A Low Spurious RF Signal Generator

  • 100 to 6000MHz

  • Uses a variable reference frequency to produce low spurious output signals

  • Calibrated output power -25 dBm to 15 dBm adjustable in 0.25 dB steps
